Talk about Ram Jam! Everyone from Madison Square Garden must have heard about how good this fete was going to be because the line was around the block. If there was a corn soup man there, he would have well earn he money! smile A quick phone call from Doc, who linked up Colin & Courtney, and the TJJ crew was on the inside. Again, we're not new to this! Thanks for the luv guys. Which is why we're still puzzled about the 2nd class treatment we received at MSG earlier. We digress... okay, as soon as we got past the thick crowd and walked up the stairs, we noticed a lovely woman dressed in red. It was none other than Calypso Rose! Well now you know it's a fete when d Queen is present!

Selector Kay Gee, who's now based in New York got the dance warmed up nicely playing a variety of musical selections. Special guest DJ Back to Basics was just chillin' on the wings - posing for a photo or two with the Jouvay.com girls. After making my way through the tight crowd and getting a drink (if you're like me, you got one for each hand with the way that place was pack up!), a couple of us drifted to a hallway that led to a small room across from where everyone else was. A good tip for the next time y'all go to this venue, make sure and check out d room in the back, no drink lines, no crowds, no problem!

After jammin' there with the other 4 people that discovered that room, I decided to return to the crowd to see what was up and reached just in time to hear Calypso Rose sing. What a treat! I didn't think it could get better than that but it did. Around 1:00am, I heard BONGO DRUMS! Partygoers were treated to a fire eater and the sounds of a drummer. And we almost forgot to mention the girls parading thru the fete in carnival costumes. If the promoters were truly seeking to bring the Congo Man to The Cabana, they well succeeded!

Around 2:00am, Hypa Hoppa & DJ Dane of Radioactive and TnT 96.7 RED FM bless d' dance. As they started to run the dance red (on a distressed sound system to boot), the hotel staff confiscated the mic from Hoppie for fear of disturbing their hotel guests. This leveled out the vibes of fete, but before we knew it... the mic was back in Hoppie's hand. When last you hear from d' "Congo Man"? Of course d' big chune had to drop! smile So after playing like 10 last chune, we were "Rollin" thru the door after 4:00am.

All in all, the fete had good people and good music. A lil' crowded, but that will happen anywhere you go when you know the fete is gonna be nice!! smile
