Happy New Year everyone! Where were you when baby new year was born? In church, with family and friends or just having a grand ole time drunk and disorderly in a fete? Well no matter what you decided to do I am sure it was fabulous!

Well as you all know, TJJ love to fete.. especially an occasion to fete and what better occasion is there than Ole year’s night! TJJ NY was indeed having a grand ole time at Katra for the Ultra Inclusive Bourgeois ... Soiree De Caribbean! BTW it was a bitterly in NYC! I mean frigid! Ice still on the ground. Maaan I was slipping and sliding in 5” stilettoes just stepping out of the car. And ... NO, I did not fall! *lol* That would not have been cute!

We arrived around 11pm and getting in was a breeze, but coat check took a minute because folks had to strip down. I personally took ten minutes easy to peel off my layers. Hey, I said it was frigid! The Hip Hop was pumping! “We getting Arab monaay!“ Whoohoo! Such a refreshing change from the regular Soca and Reggae. Hey, I know it’s about to be Carnival, but it’s NYC baby! Doh study it, Soca and Reggae was lighting up the lower level.

Question. When last you been to a fete where there were maaaad ladies, and I mean hot chicks? Fellas you should have been there. Can you say eye candy! Ladies sorry, the men weren’t out in there numbers but the one’s present were rather dashing ... suits and all! The open bar had everyone rhell nice. I must admit I hit up the bar as ah reach to warm up the bones. However, I think everyone was on a mission to get mash up! The food was good to! I just barely ate. Maybe one or two shrimp I managed to wrangle up passing me by.

The vibes was niiiicceeee ... slowly the place started to ram out. People can you say “Ballers!” Literally, NFL and NBA hot shots were in the building. They were having a good ole time. Truss! Some were a lil' camera shy though. Ah feel it’s because they “weren’t supposed to be there” Heehee. Whatever the case, they were poppin' bottles and jammin' straight. Some of the groupies *ahem* I mean ladies were duckin' the camera too. Not to mention they weren’t friendly at all. In fact I got a few elbows ... man, I swear I got beat up. *lol* Maybe I was getting too close to the “ballers”??!!

On the lower level, the Soca and Reggae was grooving nicely as well. OMG and everyone looked sooooo dam good! Not one fashion faux pas! Well except for two hotties in the same dress but, they were hot and the dress was hot so that cancels out. Haha! The shoe game was impeccable also. This is the only time EVER you are allowed to wear open toes in the winter. Yes it’s below freezing on the outside, but it’s NYE in NYC! Rock out in your strappy stilettoes ladies!

Amidst the madness we watched the Crystal ball dropped in Times Square to Usher in 2009 on the huge flat screens and we popped champagne ooooohhh!!! BTW the Crystal ball said we were going to be at the breakfast party at Sugarcane in Brooklyn, so after all the festivities and raiding the bar some more, we headed for the Brooklyn Bridge baby!
